Seacorp Agency

Seacorp is Australia’s largest independently owned ship agency provider offering customers representation that spans one of the world’s most vast global networks of agents.

Seacorp’s ship agency division can render expert advice to charterers, shippers and traders at any port in Australia.

In 2007 Seacorp handled in excess of 500 port calls accounting for over 21 million tonnes of cargo types.

These include alumina, bauxite, caustic soda, cement clinker, chemicals, crude oil, fertiliser, iron ore, various grain stuffs, salt and slag.

A standard component of Seacorp’s service is it can supply clients with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor all facets of the shipping operation.

Our Agency Division can provide the following for you:

Document Execution

"Sea Web"

To enhance the attractiveness of our Agency Division to clients, Seacorp recently invested in the development and implementation of an internet based documentary system, “Seaweb”, which is at the cutting edge of technology.

“Seaweb” provides for the production of all shipping and commercial documentation associated with a vessels port call instantly. Some of the documents that are currently created in this system include the following:

  • Notice of Readiness
  • Authority to sign Bills of Lading
  • Draft Survey Certificate
  • Mates Receipt
  • Statement of Fact
  • Certificate of Weight
  • Laytime Statement
  • Packing List
  • Bills of Lading
  • Certificate of Quality
  • Beneficiary Certificate
  • Certificate of Australian Origin
  • Certificate of No Wood Packing
  • Export Insurance Certificate
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Bill of Exchange Draft
  • Certificate of Analysis
  • Interest Invoice
  • Letter of Credit Lodgement

Seacorp’s Managing Director was previously employed as the Senior Commodity Trade for the Grain Pool of WA and has significant experience in all aspects of contractual negotiation and execution including:

Compilation of Sales Contracts;
Compliance with letter of credit requirements
Compilation of export documents

The experience gained over the years is not limited to western world negotiations, but includes extensive hands on experience in successfully dealing with developing countries throughout Eastern Europe, the Asian region, South America, Indian sub-continent and Middle Eastern markets, where understanding and compliance with local customs is imperative.

This experience allows Seacorp to fully understand the significance of complying with all contractual, letter of credit and chartering obligations. Frankly, there is no other ship agency, pilotage or broking organisation in Australia that has this level of experience.

The development of “Seaweb” has enabled our clients to significantly reduce their personnel numbers dealing with the documentary process.
